Outstanding Extension Project Award

About the Award

The Outstanding Extension Project Award recognizes exceptional extension projects or programs that have significantly contributed to potato education. Eligible projects may include printed publications, websites, workshops, newsletters, or other impactful initiatives.

Honor Bestowed

Recipients of the award are presented with an award certificate during the award ceremony at the PAA Annual Meeting.

Eligibility and Scope

  • Membership in PAA is required for nominees. For team nominations, at least one individual must be a current PAA member in good standing.
  • Nominators are not required to be a member of the Association.

Project/Program Scope

The project or program must involve Extension-related activities and must be either ongoing at the time of the PAA Annual Meeting or completed within the 30 months (2.5 years) preceding the current PAA Annual Meeting.

Nomination Requirements

The required materials to be included when submitting online nomination.

  • Project or Program Title
  • Lead Project Author or Primary Coordinator's contact information
  • Brief summary that includes the project highlights, impact, and outcomes (up to 300 words)
  • A written review (up to 1,000 words) detailing the specific project or program's contribution and/or impact to potato education through extension. (uploaded as a pdf file)
  • Contact information of two nominators supporting the nomination

Review & Selection

A Selection Committee composed of representatives from the PAA Extension, Production, and Management Section will review submissions and select the project to be awarded for the year. The award is presented during the Award Ceremony at the PAA Annual Meeting.
