Abstract Submissions
Thank you for your interest in presenting at PAA 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Submitters and/or presenting authors are not required to be a PAA member to submit an abstract.

Submission Process
All submissions are limited to 300 words and must include the following:
- Establishment of context and significance of your research
- Hypothesis or objectives
- Methods
- Results
NOTE: Abstracts dealing with commercial products or services must have a scientific emphasis. Any submission with promotional intent will not be accepted.
Do not include abstract title, authors, keywords, or references in the abstract text. Edit and proofread your abstract before submitting. Abstracts should also be proofread to make sure all authors and affiliations were accepted to the online form.
Specifying oral or poster preference does not guarantee format placement, oral presentation slots are limited. The submission of an abstract indicates you agree to present in the format assigned. Oral presentations are allotted 15 minutes (12 minutes for presentation + 3 minutes for discussion). Posters will be displayed on poster boards with presenting authors required to be present at designated times.
All communications will be sent to the submitter until the acceptance notifications are sent. Once accepted, all communications will be with the presenting author only.
Final program selections and notifications will be made by early May. The designated presenting author for any oral or poster presentation must be registered no later than June 15. Failure to register may result in your abstract being withdrawn from the meeting.

All submitters will need a PAA account to submit an abstract and will be prompted for a username and password to begin the submission process.

- Publishing Inquiry Indicate whether you are interested in having your research manuscript published in the American Journal of Potato Research. The information here will have no bearing on your abstract’s inclusion in the conference program.
- Keywords - Select a primary and secondary category that best fit your submission. Secondary category options are based on the primary category selection.
- Student Research Award - Would you like to submit this abstract to the Frank L. Haynes Graduate Student Research Award Competition? The presenting author must be a PAA Graduate Student member at the time of submission. See the competition eligibility requirements and additional details here.
- Agree to Abstract Copyright Terms and Conditions
- All authors are aware that their names appear on this abstract.
- The research represented by this abstract has not been accepted for publication in a journal as of the date this abstract was submitted.
- If accepted, the presenting author agrees to register for the event by the advance registration deadline and to present the abstract during the scheduled time/date.
- The presenting author will keep the Potato Association of America informed of any changes to the contact information provided.
- Non-US Government Submitters: I confirm that this is an original work and that the abstract has not been previously published. I and any contributing authors, as sole proprietors of the abstract, agree to transfer copyright of the abstract to the Potato Association of America. Abstracts will be posted online. By agreeing, I accept this copyright transfer.
- Canadian Government Submitters: If your work is protected by “© His Majesty the King in Right of Canada,” please add that copyright statement at the end of your abstract.
- I understand that failure to accept the applicable copyright transfer or public domain notice or failure to complete any of the abstract submission guidelines will result in the immediate cancellation of my abstract submission.

Each abstract must have at least a Presenting Author. Follow the directions on screen to add authors to your abstracts. Search for a person or if you are unable to find the person, click Can't find the person you're looking for? then Add New Person. Complete all required fields then Save and Continue. Continue this process to add all authors then click Abstract Text.
