Keeping an intact skin on the potato tuber is critically important. The skin is the first line of defense against pathogens as well as significantly reducing water loss from the tuber. This is a webinar about measuring tuber skin set using the Halderson and Hennings skin set testing tool. This tool is attached to a torque wrench and the torque needed to shear the phellogen cell walls is recorded.
